My Weekend in SAVANNAH...

This past weekend was my cousin Jamie's wedding in Savannah. This was the first wedding I have made it to since moving to Georgia. I have missed at least 3 of my cousins wedding's so this was very important to me.

It was a small intimate ceremony with only immediate family and very close friends being invited. They will be having a large reception back home in Ithaca for the people that were not invited to the wedding (I will miss that :() but I was there for the important part!

We arrived in Savannah friday for the rehearsal dinner. It was at Hope Marina. I was very happy to see my aunt Carolyn and her family who haven't seen in many years (after her and my uncle divorced I didn't see much of her side of the family). They are SOO much fun. I have always held a special place for my aunt Carolyn. She is such a free spirit. One time in high school and ran away from home and stayed with her for the summer.

Anyway, they had a nice buffet set up and MANY drinks. Some of my cousins friends were there (Tim Diemond, Jeff Stahl, Jason June, Jeff Baker..). My brother and sister were both inthe wedding.

To be honest I don't even know where to begin there is so much to say. Of course my cousin Jody was there (he is the grooms bro) anyone that knows Jody knows how he LOVES to party. The rehearsal dinner lasted until around 11. There was also a DJ so everyone was dancing and having a terrific time.

After getting rid of the adults a bunch of us went downt o River Street for some more fun. Marquis and I met up with Jamie, Jody, Tim, George, Jason, My brother and his girlfriend Emily. We hung out downton until 4am!! just reminiscing and goofing off.

I haven't seen Jason June in YEARS...and I didn't know about his tragic accident in which he lost an eye. The story to how this happened has something to do with a friend of his and a golf umbrella. Anyway, it doesn't bother Jason much..actually he has alot of fun with it. Like taking his eye out while everyone is drunk and seeing who notices!!! UGHHH!!! but he is so funny!!!

The next day my mom had us up early making runs to the mall for hair and nails. My grandma had a hair appt. and my nails were in a desperate state. the girls at US nails in Oglethorpe mall hooked me UP!! THANX GIRLS@!!!

The wedding started at 4. It was held at a restaurant that the bride (Carrie Webb) family owns called Elizabeths on 37th. It is a very nice place. It is in an old Savannah home witha nice garden outside. Actually all the herbs and vegatable that they use they grow in this garden. It was set up with red roses everywhere..pettles in the water of the fountains. My brother and sister looked fantastic. The brides brother's "friend" is a broadway performer and sang 2 songs at the wedding.

I wasn't gonna cry!!! but as soon as I looked up at my sister she was already in tears and the bride hadn't even come out yet. When she did she looked beautiful. She came down the stairs from the second floor into the garden. Then...I looked at Jody...*sigh* he was fighting back the tears and you could tell. I cant even begin to explain how seeing him like that just broke me down!!! Jody is not much of an emotional person. It was so heartwarming to see how much he loves his brother (dammit I might cry right now). So anyone that had a dry eye lost it at that point. And worse the damn groom was having a hard time holding it together. Jamie and Carrie are suhc a great couple and as her father said in his toast, they are best friends. There is nothing better than looking at 2 people and feeling the love that they share. I think that with this being such a small ceremony they accomplished just what they wanted.

After the ceremony it was time to party...again. We sent Sierra and my other little cousins ina limo for a ride and a stop at McDonalds (since we knew they weren't gonna eat what was on the menu). And out came the champaigne and mohitos. We hung out for a while toasting (more tears) and taking MANY pictures ( I will post those as soon as my mom sends them).

We then headed upstairs to eat. They had an 8 course meal planned. They brough out small samples of items ranging from Spiced Mussel with smoked tomato aioli to Duck and lobster. I wasn't sure how I would feel about this, but it was DELICIOUS. I was very surprised and impressed with the quality and the service. The servers catered to our every wish and still ran a full restaurant downstairs.

The brother of the bride (Jeremy) and the father made a slide show of Jamie and Carrie's life together (we all cried again). It was so sweet.

And after that...more drinking. When we went back outside there was a band and they had set candles up everywhere. Then they brought out MORE food!!!!

We hung out there until it was time for the bride and groom to run off into the sunset (the westin) and begin making babies!! WHOO HOO!! we set large sparklers up all down the sidewalk as they walked to the limo. All the people from the downstairs part of the restaurant came out to wave to the newlyweds.

We wanted to go downtown again that night but once we got to the hotel we were exhausted. And we weren't sure what was gonna happen with the hurricane so we wantedto get some rest so we cold get the hell out of Savannah early Sunday am.

Aside from the fact that I had a sore throat and almost NO voice. I had a great time. We couldnt have asked for better weather.

Im sure I missed alot of details but I am still recovering. I will make sure to share the pictures as soon as I receive them...

I had to take a lil break from blogger. Not one that I wanted to take but I had to find a way to get online at work again since they blocked most access. As you can see I was successful. Hopefully I won't loose my job!! hahah

Anyway, let's see what's been going. My brother came through last weekend. He was on his way to Florida (gainesville) from NJ when the hurricane was coming. So he stopped at my house hoping his girlfriend would evacuate with the rest of the state and drive here to meet him. No such luck. So he headed down there the next day. Luckily they didn't get hit too hard.

UGA had a game this weekend (GOOO DAWGS!!) they beat the hell outta Georgia Southern. I'm not sure if they will be as lucky this week when they take on South Carolina, but imma cheer for em anyway!!!! HOW 'BOUT THEM DAWGS!!!!!!

So we went out friday night after the game and of course the streets were flooded with red and black fans! not too many fights either...

My friend flipped out on her man last week. he stayed out till 3am (which isnt that bad because he NEVER leaves the house) HOWEVER, when she did catch up with him he was giving some girls a ride to his cousins house (mmm hmmm) so she cut all his underwear with a raxor, cut holes in his pants pockets, sliced his shoelaces...there was some more stuff but I can't remember. She is outta control!!!

Sierra is continuing to do well in school. Especially reading!! I am very excited about this!!!!!

The weather SUCKS!!! its been raining here for 2 days!

umm....I gotta run and turn the radio up real quick......Ill be back...I LOOOOOVE 97.1!!!!
